Women and heart disease
Heart attacks are common for women, but symptoms often appear differently than in men. All people experience chest pain and pressure, but as a woman, you are more likely to have it in the jaw, neck pain, abdomen and lower back. You might also experience extreme fatigue lasting hours, days or weeks.
Our emergency staff is trained to recognize the unique symptoms that women experience during a cardiac event. Our hospital is a Chest Pain Center v5 with Primary PCI Accreditation and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. When you come to our emergency room (ER), our experienced providers are standing by to swiftly administer treatment following specific procedures that increase effectiveness.
