CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Liz Gates, Parkridge Valley counselor, recently received the Counselor of the Year award from the Southeast Tennessee Association for Addiction Professionals (SETAADAC).

Liz was nominated for this award by her fellow addiction treatment professionals in southeast Tennessee. She is actively involved in the local addiction professional community and currently serves as SETAADAC’s Secretary as well as President Elect of the organization.

Liz has been employed with Parkridge Valley for just over a year. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) who is currently working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a national Certification as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). Liz has worked in the field of mental health and human services for over eight years and has focused on the field of addiction for the past five years. In addition to her work with Parkridge Valley’s adult inpatient clients, she also works part-time in private practice.
