CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Parkridge Medical Center has received the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) ACTION Registry – Get With the Guidelines (GWTG) Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2015, making it one of only 319 hospitals nationwide to obtain the honor.

The award recognizes that Parkridge Medical Center is successful in its commitment to implement a higher standard of care for heart attack patients, as shown by achieving an aggressive goal of treating these patients according to clinical guidelines and recommendations from the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association. To receive the NCDR ACTION Registry – GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award, Parkridge Medical Center consistently followed the treatment guidelines in ACTION Registry – GWTG Premier for eight consecutive quarters and met a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures.

“This award is a proud achievement for Parkridge Medical Center. It reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff who care for some of our most critically ill patients and their families,” said Deborah Deal, Chief Nursing Executive for the Parkridge Health System. “The implementation of these guidelines requires successful coordination of the cardiovascular team and emergency personnel and is a critical step in saving the lives and improving outcomes of heart attack patients.”
