Four employees of Parkridge Health System earned a Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from Union University – Center for Excellence in Health Care Practice.

Tiffany Anderson, appeals manager for Parallon Business Solutions, LLC, a business and operational services partner of Parkridge Health System; Jared Bement, executive director of surgical services for Parkridge Health System; Misty Hughes, director of behavioral health services at Parkridge Mountainview; and Landon Terning, manager of the child & adolescent program at Parkridge Valley, recently completed the 2015 TriStar Health Leadership Academy to earn the distinction.

“Tiffany, Jared, Misty, and Landon’s participation in the Leadership Academy was a valuable experience that enhanced their leadership capabilities,” said Darrell Moore, CEO of Parkridge Health System. “The partnership between Union University and TriStar Health is a fantastic conduit for equipping these leaders with a forum to learn and share leadership best practices with their peers across Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia. They have worked very hard throughout 2015 and I commend them for their willingness to continually grow and develop their leadership skills.”

“Participating in the Leadership Academy was a valuable opportunity to learn about different leadership styles and build upon our personal strengths,” said Hughes. “Over the course of this program I gained a great deal of self-confidence in my ability to lead a team, plan and implement a major project at my facility, and speak publicly. I’m honored to have been selected for this chance to grow my leadership skills.”

Parkridge Health System is part of the TriStar Health System, the region’s largest, most comprehensive healthcare provider with 18 hospitals and 10 ambulatory surgery centers in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Northern Georgia. The Leadership Academy is a 12-month program offered through the TriStar Healthcare Educational Institute at Union University, Hendersonville Campus in Hendersonville, Tenn. This program is part of a partnership between TriStar Health and Union University – Center for Excellence in Health Care Practice.

Program participant selection criteria includes: demonstrating the hospital’s vision and core values, having a responsibility to lead a team, and being motivated about future opportunities within the HCA/TriStar organization.
