CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.– Brian Cook, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HCA’s Parkridge East Hospital, has been promoted to CEO at HCA’s Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla. According to Darrell Moore, President and CEO of Parkridge Health System, Cook will assume his new role effective March 1.

“Brian has done an outstanding job during his time at Parkridge East, and he will be a wonderful leader for the Capital team,” Moore said. Under Cook’s guidance, Parkridge East Hospital has consistently exceeded quality and performance goals and earned first place recognition out of all HCA facilities as a Best Place to Work in the corporation’s annual Employee Satisfaction Survey.

Cook has been with HCA since 2003 and joined the company’s TriStar Division in 2006. He served as Chief Operating Officer at Hendersonville Medical Center near Nashville before coming to Chattanooga as CEO of Parkridge East Hospital in 2009. He has been actively involved in the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society as well as several other local civic organizations throughout his career. Most recently, he served as a Board Member of the Tennessee State Board of Respiratory Care.

Cook earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance at Florida State University and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and is the recipient of an ACHE Early Career Regents Award.
