Justin Forgette, LPC, social services representative at Parkridge Valley Cleveland, recently spoke with WDEF Channel 12's Amy Noguchi about the emerging trend among adolescents to use prescription rather than illegal drugs.

Forgette noted that referrals for adolescent drug use are increasing in frequency, and that many adolescents are finding prescription medications to be far easier to come by than illegal drugs. As far as possible solutions to the problem go, Forgette said that the answer begins at home.

"It boils down to broken families," Forgette said. "I always tell parents, 'you've also got to work on yourselves -- your relationship -- and you'll see the benefits with your kids.'"
