An outpatient rehabilitation program allows patients to stay at home during their recovery and receive therapy on their schedule. It is usually less intensive than inpatient rehabilitation.

Physical therapy

If you've had an injury or condition, or if you are recovering from a procedure, our physical therapists offer attentive, high-quality support that adapts to your needs. As you progress, we use a variety of approaches and treatments, including:

  • Electrical stimulation
  • Heat and cold therapy
  • Isokinetic strengthening and testing for athletes
  • Manual and standardized evaluation
  • McKenzie therapy
  • Neuromuscular re-education
  • Orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Ultrasound modality
  • Vestibular rehabilitation

Speech therapy

Depending on your condition or procedure, you may develop speech issues as a result. Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) help with both speaking and swallowing conditions, using therapies, such as:

  • Cognitive-linguistic therapy — This therapy focuses on problem-solving, short-term recall and abstract reasoning complications.
  • Dysphagia therapy — Used to treat swallowing difficulties, this may involve electrical stimulation, combined with traditional treatments.
  • Speech-language therapy — This often targets articulation, word retrieval and comprehension issues.
  • Voice therapy — You may need this type of therapy when experiencing vocal fold paralysis or weakness.
