Our experienced team of OB/GYNs, mid-level providers and specially trained labor and delivery nurses will be with you every step of your maternity journey, from preparing for hospital birth to offering expert medical care, educational classes, coordinated support services and encouragement during and following your labor and delivery.

The Birth Place at Parkridge East Hospital unites the highest levels of healthcare and comfort. Our home-like delivery rooms offer high-definition TVs, free wireless internet, rocking chairs, sleeper chairs, a refrigerator and other amenities that help new mothers recover after delivery and facilitate bonding with new additions to the family.

Experienced OB/GYNs and nursing teams

After delivery, the same nurse caring for your postpartum needs will also care for your newborn. Our experienced care teams, which include OB/GYNs, mid-levels, specially trained nurses, lactation specialists, respiratory and speech therapists, and NICU nurses will support your family in a relaxed, private environment. From the smallest premature newborn to the healthy full-term baby, we're prepared to meet your needs.

Lactation support

The specially trained, certified nurses on our lactation team have extensive knowledge in the science of lactation and breastfeeding. They are available seven days per week, working with new mothers to help make breastfeeding as successful as possible. Following delivery, our lactation team fully supports new mothers, from encouraging immediate skin-to-skin contact following birth to offering a number of breastfeeding and pumping options.

Our lactation team leads a number of educational classes on breastfeeding and labor to support expectant families. They also offer a monthly breastfeeding support group that meets on the first Monday of each month at Parkridge East Hospital. The group is open to all nursing moms, infants and siblings.

Perinatal care

The Birth Place at Parkridge East Hospital perinatal team is focused on providing comprehensive, compassionate care for moms and babies before, during and after delivery. Our board-certified perinatologists provide for both regular and high-risk deliveries in a comfortable, welcoming environment. If your baby arrives early, our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit gives you the security of one of the highest levels of care your baby can get anywhere. As you’re preparing for your new bundle of joy, we can help with Prenatal Education classes or expectant moms and families.
